Dogwoods always look good planted near water, and will grow on most garden soils, but poor shallow chalk soils are best avoided. Inedible red berries, in loose clusters, are produced in autumn. Needs to be sheltered from cold winds.

Cornus kousa 'Big Apple'
Large white flowering bracts in June, followed by extremely large red edible fruits in the autumn. Dark green leathery and heavily textured leaves on a large spreading tree. Height 2-4m in 10 years. Best in full sun or partial shade.

These trees sit at approximaltey 80-100cm not including the pot (H5) Ruffled white margin surrounding green central eye of the variegated leaf. Creamy white flower bracts in May-June, on a small plant which will tolerant full sun, but prefers partial shade. Grows to 175-200cm tall and equally wide in 10 years. Mildew resistant. Young trees may take a few years to show the extremes in variegation.
